You buy this through an annual contract sized in blocks of 100 users. Five package options set your baseline: SSO & MFA, Device Identity Management, Cloud Insights, JumpCloud Platform, and JumpCloud Platform Prime. Each covers a different mix of identity, access, and device management, with Prime adding Zero Trust and 24/7 support. You pick the package that fits your use case. If your active user count rises above the contracted amount, a matching per-user monthly overage fee applies for that package. This lets usage scale beyond your commitment without a new contract.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each package is sized per user, in blocks of 100 users. A user is a person account in the directory. Suspended users still count as billable and stay in the system during suspension. So your count reflects all retained accounts, not just active sessions.
Each package has a matching per-user monthly overage fee. If active users exceed your contracted block, that fee applies for the extra users. You keep your existing contract; the overage bills those additional users automatically at the package rate. This lets usage grow without a new agreement.
SSO & MFA covers cloud directory, single sign-on, and push MFA. Device Identity Management adds cross-OS device management. Cloud Insights adds directory reporting. JumpCloud Platform combines identity, access, and device management. JumpCloud Platform Prime adds Zero Trust and 24/7 support. You pick one baseline package per contract.

What do you like best about the product?
I find JumpCloud's interface to be lightweight and an order of magnitude faster than its competitors, making workflows easier to accomplish. The interface is well-defined with straightforward menus and context menus, which helps in taking actions in real time. I appreciate the ease of setting up JumpCloud, as an IT professional can quickly follow the onboarding process. Integration with Google Workspace for device and identity management is quick and painless. JumpCloud's ease of access stands out compared to other competitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't been able to work with the geofencing capabilities as much. They don't necessarily put those front and center nor do I think this product is primarily designed for organizations that require geofencing in general.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud secures our Mac and iOS devices remotely, aids in tracking lost or stolen hardware, and simplifies user lifecycle management. Its easy-to-use, lightweight interface speeds up workflows and enables access from any device with a browser, even for last-minute tasks.

What do you like best about the product?
It keeps all of my passwords/credentials in one secure platform. And I can easily access it whenever I need to remind myself of the credentials I set.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not able to edit any previously set credentials within the account. It will prompted me to delete it and then create a new credential
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It keeps all of my passwords, QR codes and Passkeys in one secure place.

The management of devices for Macs and Windows (users, devices, setting up policies)
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of Chromebook and Linux support (Linux for items like apps); if users are placed in groups for policies, they cannot be easily taken out for troubleshooting without disrupting all other syncs to the device/user; PIN saving in MDM not available if locked device (other MDMs have); cannot remove non-used VPP apps from list of software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote connecting to devices (either with user interaction or background) work great.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about JumpCloud is its centralized approach to identity and access management. It makes it easier to manage user access, devices, and authentication from a single platform. The interface is user-friendly, and features such as SSO, MFA, device management, and automated user provisioning help improve security while reducing manual administrative work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some areas of JumpCloud could be improved, particularly the user interface and overall ease of administration. Certain settings and configurations can be difficult to navigate, and troubleshooting issues sometimes requires going through multiple steps or referring to documentation. It would also be helpful to have clearer error messages, faster issue resolution, and more streamlined reporting and automation capabilities. Better integration with commonly used IT and HR tools would further improve the overall user experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud is helping us centralize identity, access, and device management in one platform. It reduces the need for multiple manual processes and tools for user onboarding/offboarding, access control, device management, and security. The main benefits for us are: Faster and more consistent employee onboarding and offboarding. Better visibility and control over user access and company devices. Improved security through MFA, SSO, device policies, and centralized access management. Easier management of Mac, Windows, and Linux devices from a single console. Reduced manual effort for IT teams and faster resolution of device-related issues. Better standardization and auditability of access and device management.
